Accountability to identify and address safety hazards and risks is a fundamental responsibility for supervisors

Supervisors can accomplish accountability through inspection and observation, as well as taking the time to observe employees for safe behavior.

Accountability is a fundamental component of successful safety programs. Strong accountability starts at the top and includes every level of staffing down to line workers. All supervisors should budget time to identify and address safety hazards/risks.
